A different place to use your experience

A home kitchen.
A person who needs a hand.
A cook who knows what to do.

Your skills can be useful beyond a restaurant kitchen. Some people need help planning meals, using the food they have, preparing something they enjoy or getting their kitchen working again.

You agree the work with each client and provide the cooking help. Business in a Box organises the laptop, email, bookings and invoicing behind your service.

You already know your way around a kitchen. You don’t have to work out every business system alone.

Already put into practice

The chef setup has already been purchased.

A chef has purchased the initial Business in a Box package. This page brings that practical setup together for other experienced cooks and chefs who want their own business helping people at home.

The setup is real. Your bookings and earnings depend on your own business.

Is this for you?

You can cook.
You want to work for yourself.
You want the setup handled.

  • You have practical experience as a cook or chef.
  • You like working with people in their own homes.
  • You want professional email, bookings and invoicing.
  • You want to understand and control your own business accounts.

This is a business setup service. Cooking training, customers and guaranteed income are not included.

One step at a time

You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

The setup is tailored to your services, your prices and the way you work. Then we practise the tasks you’ll use with your own clients.

  • Get to know your setup. One to two hours together after laptop delivery.
  • Make your first booking. A dedicated one-hour session when you’re ready.
  • Send your first invoice. A separate one-hour session to work through it together.

Personal coaching is part of the package

Set up for you. Practised with you. Adjusted as you start.

You don’t have to work out the new tools alone. We use your everyday business tasks to help you feel confident running the setup yourself.

Your first contact and booking

Add a customer, arrange the job and practise finding the details across your laptop and phone, with your tablet included where agreed.

Your first invoice

Prepare an invoice using your own services and prices, check the details and send it with Allen’s guidance.

Your first payment or remittance

Work through a payment notification or remittance advice, match it to the invoice and check what remains unpaid.

AI help with email and calendars

Practise using AI to draft email replies, summarise messages and help plan appointments. Check suggested replies, dates and details before sending or changing a booking. Available features depend on your accounts and subscriptions.

Documents and Drive across devices

Learn to save, find, organise and share your business documents in Drive across your laptop, phone and agreed tablet. Practise using available AI tools to draft or summarise documents, and check which account and sharing permissions you are using.

Adjustments as you start

Review how the agreed setup works for you and make agreed adjustments to templates, settings and everyday steps.

Follow-up calls and support

Bring your questions to the included coaching and two 20-minute follow-up calls within 30 days of handover. Additional work is quoted separately.

Included: a one-to-two-hour walkthrough after laptop delivery, a one-hour first-contact and booking session, a separate one-hour first-invoice session, and two 20-minute follow-up calls within 30 days of handover. The timing and scope of payment/remittance coaching, AI guidance and setup adjustments are agreed in writing before you proceed, so you know exactly what support is included.

What happens next

Set up, shown how, and supported through your first steps.

  1. 1

    Meet Allen first

Have a phone or video call. Talk through your work, see who you’re dealing with and ask your questions. There’s no obligation to buy.

  2. 2

    Get the details in writing

Confirm the $2,995 package, your exact inclusions, separate ongoing costs and the help included in your handover.

  3. 3

    Agree the appointment and payment

Agree your setup booking and estimated timeframe before paying. Your invoice identifies the supplier and ABN, the agreed work and payment terms.

  4. 4

Set up, practise and hand over

After laptop delivery, spend one to two hours getting to understand your setup and checking your account access. Then have a dedicated one-hour session for your first booking and a separate one-hour session for your first invoice, when you are ready.

How long does the setup take?

Once you decide to proceed, the initial configuration call is approximately two hours. We work through your business details, existing accounts and what you need from your email, calendar and accounting package.

Allen then spends approximately six additional hours completing the configuration, account connections and checks before laptop delivery, followed by a one-to-two-hour walkthrough after laptop delivery. A one-hour session for your first booking and a separate one-hour session for your first invoice take place when you are ready. The initial configuration call is one part of the complete setup.

Your setup appointment and expected completion timeframe are agreed before payment. Laptop availability, access to existing accounts and third-party approvals can affect the timeframe. The handover and any follow-up sessions are agreed upfront.

What should I know before paying?

Meet Allen first and receive the agreed scope and costs in writing. Confirm the supplier details and ABN, your setup booking, available payment methods, cancellation terms and how any setup problems will be handled. Ask about anything you are unsure of before proceeding.

Payment is arranged through your invoice after the setup is agreed. This website does not collect your payment or card details.

What will I be able to check at handover?

Work through a practical task such as preparing an invoice, finding a customer record and accessing your business email. Check your own login and recovery access and understand which subscriptions and renewals you manage. The package also includes a one-hour session for your first booking and a separate one-hour session for your first invoice when you are ready, plus two 20-minute courtesy calls within 30 days of handover. Additional work is quoted separately.

Before you decide

Your questions, answered.

Is this for cooks as well as chefs?

Yes. This is for people with practical cooking experience who want to run their own service. We discuss your experience and the work you intend to offer before agreeing the setup. It is not a cooking qualification or chef training.

Do I have to trade as Kitchen Confidence?

Your business identity and any use of the Kitchen Confidence name are discussed before you proceed. This package sets up your independent business; it is not a franchise or an automatic licence to use the name.

Will you give me customers?

Customers and paid work are not included or guaranteed. The package gives you the business tools to deal professionally with the customers you find. We do not promise earnings, bookings or referrals.

Are there ongoing costs?

The package is a $2,995 setup including GST. Software subscriptions, domain renewals and other third-party charges are separate unless expressly included. Allen explains the agreed inclusions and ongoing costs before you proceed. Business in a Box does not take a percentage of your earnings.

What do I need before starting?

Cooking experience and a clear idea of the service you want to provide. Tell Allen whether you already have an ABN, a business bank account, insurance or any business systems. Requirements for your intended work need to be confirmed before you start serving clients.

Can I work with organisations or government-funded services?

Your business systems can support professional bookings, records and invoices. Eligibility, checks, service requirements and approval depend on the work and the organisation. The setup does not guarantee acceptance or contracts.

What happens when I click Talk to Allen?

The button takes you to a short enquiry form. Choose a phone or video call, add your details, then prepare and send your email to Allen. He will arrange a suitable time with you. There is no obligation to buy.
